An exciting opportunity has come up with a respected and fast growing managed service provider that supports schools, trusts and small to medium businesses with high quality IT services and strategic guidance. They are now seeking a motivated and relationship focused Client Account Manager to join the team in a newly created role. This position offers the chance to become the key link between clients and a skilled technical delivery team, playing an important part in service improvement and long term success.
Location: Surrey / London
Salary: £45-55k
Contract: Permanent, full time
About the Role
As the Client Account Manager you will take ownership of a portfolio of managed service clients and act as their trusted adviser. You will work closely with senior leadership teams to ensure IT services support organisational goals, while identifying opportunities for improvement, project development and commercial growth. This is a client facing role that involves leading account development meetings, managing renewals, shaping project requirements and ensuring a high standard of client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client account queries
• Build strong and lasting partnerships with senior stakeholders
• Position the business as a strategic IT partner that adds measurable value
Account Development
• Lead technology review meetings with client leadership
• Present service performance and security insights in a clear and professional way
• Identify infrastructure gaps and highlight suitable project opportunities
Contracts and Commercials
• Manage client contract renewals and ensure all commercial terms are accurate
• Identify opportunities for upsell and cross sell that support client needs
• Support the preparation of quotes and proposals using industry recognised tools
Project Scoping and Collaboration
• Gather and analyse client requirements for upcoming projects
• Translate business needs into structured and clear technical briefs
• Ensure proposals align with client objectives and deliver expected outcomes
Client Satisfaction
• Monitor satisfaction through feedback tools and regular check ins
• Support the resolution of escalations in partnership with senior technical staff
• Maintain strong client retention through proactive account management
What You Will Bring
• Experience in account management, client success or business development within an MSP or IT services environment
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage renewals and support sales activity
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with confidence when engaging senior leaders
• The ability to explain technical information in a clear business focused way
• A proactive and organised approach with the ability to manage several accounts at once
• Experience with MSP systems such as Autotask, IT Glue, Datto RMM or Zomentum is beneficial
