Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Engineer to support a major transformation within a global entertainment group. You will play a key part in rebuilding and modernising the data integration environment, migrating legacy Azure Fabric pipelines into a scalable and efficient modern data stack.
REMOTE - Three month initial contract with potential extension
This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys technical problem solving and delivering clean, reliable data products that support the operations of large music festivals and live events.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyse legacy Azure Fabric pipelines and understand existing logic for sales, customer and inventory data
• Design and rebuild new ETL and ELT pipelines in Python
• Use Python libraries such as Pandas and Requests to extract and transform data from ticketing partner APIs
• Build, schedule and maintain workflows in Apache Airflow
• Model and load data into Google BigQuery using DBT Cloud
• Ensure data quality through robust testing and validation
• Produce clear documentation including data lineage and transformation detail
Skills and Experience Required
• Strong Python development background within data engineering projects
• Proven experience creating and managing DAGs in Apache Airflow
• Strong experience with Google BigQuery including SQL optimisation and schema design
• Experience using Azure Data Factory or Microsoft Fabric
• Hands on experience building pipelines using DBT
• Practical experience using Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Experience integrating with third party REST APIs
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex issues
Desirable
• Experience with ticketing or live events data
• Understanding of GDPR and data privacy practices
• Solid understanding of data warehousing principles
