GreatFind Recruitment is supporting a leading education institution to appoint a skilled 2nd Line IT Support Technician to join their established IT support team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support professional with strong Apple and Windows device management expertise, particularly across JAMF Pro and Microsoft Intune, to work in a busy user focused environment supporting both staff and students.

The Role

As Second Line IT Support Technician, you will provide outstanding first and second line technical support, resolving escalated issues and helping maintain a modern IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include

  • Delivering first and second line support across hardware, software, and networking issues
    • Diagnosing and resolving complex problems across Windows, macOS, and iOS devices
    • Supporting classroom technology including AV equipment, interactive displays, and education platforms
    • Managing devices using JAMF Pro for Apple environments
    • Administering Microsoft Intune for Windows endpoint and mobile device management
    • Configuring security policies, compliance controls, and application deployment
    • Supporting Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD environments
    • Maintaining accurate ticket logs and IT asset documentation
    • Assisting with IT projects, upgrades, and system improvements

Working hours are Monday to Friday on a rota basis between 8am and 6pm. This is a fully onsite position.

In addition, Saturday morning working is required on a rota basis, approximately 20 Saturdays during term time.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience with JAMF Pro device management
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager
    • Proficiency across Windows 10 and 11, macOS, and iOS environments
    • Experience supporting Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration
    • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP IP, DNS, DHCP, and WiFi
    • Minimum 2 years experience in an IT support role, ideally within an education setting
    • Confident troubleshooting complex technical issues in a mixed device environment
    • Excellent communication skills, able to support non technical users professionally

Desirable

  • Apple certification or JAMF accreditation
    • Microsoft certifications such as MD 101 or MS 900
    • Experience supporting learning platforms and education software
    • Knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR within education
