Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an IT Support Engineer to join a growing education focused IT support provider, supporting schools across North London and Hertfordshire.
This role would suit someone with strong 1st and 2nd line IT support experience who enjoys working in a school environment and wants to develop their technical skills across servers, networks, cloud platforms, devices and classroom technology.
You will be working across school sites in East Finchley, Edgware and Barnet, joining an established onsite team and providing reliable, professional IT support to staff and students.
- Location: East Finchley, Edgware and Barnet
- Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
- Contract: Permanent, Full Time
- Hours: 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day to day IT support across school sites
- Support Windows servers, PCs, laptops, Macs, mobile devices and printers
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and user issues
- Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, WSUS, MDT and WDS
- Assist with Microsoft 365, Azure and Microsoft Intune administration
- Support Google Workspace and cloud based systems
- Help maintain wireless, network and classroom technology
- Escalate more complex issues where required
- Work closely with school staff to ensure technology supports teaching and learning
- Deliver a professional, approachable and customer focused IT support service
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous IT support experience, ideally within a school or education environment
- Good knowledge of Windows desktop and server environments
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP and DNS
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure and Intune
- Exposure to Google Workspace would be beneficial
- Basic understanding of networking, wireless and VLANs
- Confident troubleshooting PCs, laptops, Macs, mobile devices and printers
- Strong communication skills and a helpful, approachable manner
- Able to work well as part of a team and independently
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise support requests effectively
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential due to travel between sites
