Director of IT

An outstanding school in London is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of IT to lead its digital transformation and IT provision. This senior leadership role will shape and deliver a modern, secure and efficient IT strategy that supports both teaching and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the school’s IT function, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, MIS, digital learning platforms, and service delivery. Leading a small internal team and managing external suppliers, the Director of IT will work closely with senior leaders to ensure the school’s technology effectively supports its educational vision.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and delivering a whole-school IT strategy aligned with educational and operational goals

• Overseeing IT systems, infrastructure, and network services to ensure reliability and scalability

• Leading on cybersecurity, data protection and regulatory compliance

• Supporting teaching, learning and administration through innovative digital tools

• Managing IT budgets, contracts and supplier relationships

• Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, ideally within an educational environment

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure, MIS, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies

• Excellent leadership, communication and project management skills
