Field based IT Engineer

£30,000 | Leeds / Field Based | Permanent 

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused  Field based IT Engineer to join a growing managed service provider supporting schools across the Leeds area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with school IT or MSP experience who enjoys working on-site, solving problems and building strong relationships with users. 

As an Field based IT Engineer, you will support multiple schools, delivering both 1st and 2nd line support across a range of devices, systems and infrastructure. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same, offering the chance to work across different environments while developing your technical skills within the education sector. 

Main Responsibilities 

• Provide on-site and remote IT support to schools across hardware, software and user issues 
• Diagnose and resolve faults across PCs, laptops, Macs, printers and mobile devices 
• Support Microsoft environments including Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 
• Assist with installation, configuration and maintenance of school IT systems
  Maintain accurate records within the IT support system and ensure tickets are updated 
• Support network environments including VLANs and basic infrastructure troubleshooting 
• Provide remote support via phone, Teams or other platforms 
• Assist with routine checks and ensure systems are running securely and efficiently 
• Work independently across multiple sites while maintaining excellent customer service 

Skills / Experience Required 

• Experience working in a school IT environment or education-focused MSP 
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software 
• Experience with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Server environments 
• Knowledge of Active Directory and basic networking concepts 
• Understanding of Microsoft 365 and Azure fundamentals 
• Strong communication and customer service skills 
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Full UK driving licence (you will be given access to a company vehicle)
• Enhanced DBS required
