About the Role

As the Senior IT Engineer, you will play a key role in managing and improving the academy’s IT services to support both teaching and administrative functions. You’ll provide second-line technical support, lead IT staff on-site, and contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of the school’s IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and support IT services across the academy
• Provide second-line support and resolve complex technical issues
• Lead and mentor on-site IT technicians
• Maintain the school’s IT estate, including servers, networks, software, and security systems
• Support staff, pupils and visitors with IT-related queries and training
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in Windows Server environments and M365 administration
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
• Excellent diagnostic, organisational, and communication skills
• A genuine passion for technology and continuous improvement
• Ideally, experience in an education setting and familiarity with ITIL practices

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience with Apple School Manager, iOS/macOS, virtualisation platforms, or SaaS/PaaS/IaaS models
• Exposure to Mobile Device Management tools such as Jamf or Mosyle
