We are seeking an experienced Strategic IT Infrastructure & Cloud Lead to play a pivotal role in a major digital transformation programme. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the design and delivery of a large-scale Microsoft 365 tenancy consolidation, supporting a multi-site education group in achieving a secure, efficient, and future-ready IT environment.

The Role

You will act as the principal authority for technical architecture, overseeing the migration of multiple Microsoft 365 environments into a single consolidated tenancy. Working closely with an outsourced partner, you will lead on technical design, implementation, and governance while ensuring adherence to best practice in security, compliance, and system performance.

Alongside this, you will provide leadership and direction to the IT Engineering Team, ensuring systems across the organisation – central office and schools – operate reliably, securely, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design, migration, and maintenance of a single Microsoft 365 tenancy.

• Act as the primary technical authority for the programme, ensuring robust architecture and delivery.

• Manage and develop the IT Engineering Team, setting clear objectives and driving continuous improvement.

• Work with senior stakeholders, programme boards, and external partners to deliver milestones.

• Oversee infrastructure across cloud, server, desktop, network, and telecoms environments.

• Ensure best practice in security, compliance, and risk management.

• Contribute to strategic IT decisions and foster a strong customer service culture.

About You

You will bring significant experience in leading enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 / Entra / Azure environments, ideally in single-tenant and multi-tenant settings. You will have a track record of delivering complex IT transformation projects and be confident engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.

Essential skills and experience include:

• Expertise in Microsoft 365, Entra, Azure and Windows environments.

• Strong background in cloud and infrastructure management, including networking, security, and virtualisation.

• Experience managing large-scale tenancy migrations.

• Proven team leadership and people management skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
