We are looking for a technically strong IT Project Engineer to join a growing projects team delivering infrastructure solutions across education and commercial clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working across varied environments, combining project delivery, technical design and client engagement.

£45,000–£55,000 | UK Wide / Hybrid | Permanent

As an IT Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering server, storage, network and security projects from initial scoping through to implementation and sign-off. You will work closely with customers, providing technical consultancy, supporting pre-sales activity and acting as a senior escalation point where required. This role offers a high level of variety, autonomy and the chance to work on complex, multi-site environments across the UK.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver IT infrastructure projects including installation, configuration and implementation both remotely and on-site
• Provide technical pre-sales support including scoping, solution design and client consultation
• Conduct technical audits and site surveys, producing clear design documentation
• Deploy and support servers, storage, networking and wireless solutions
• Configure and manage Windows Server environments, Hyper-V and associated services
• Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy environments
• Implement and support backup and recovery solutions within virtualised environments
• Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, web filtering and network security solutions
• Act as a third line escalation point for complex technical issues
• Work closely with clients to deliver projects to a high standard and build strong relationships
• Support development of new products and services within the business

Skills / Experience Required

• Strong experience delivering IT infrastructure projects in a hands-on role
• Experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V and core infrastructure services
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting network and security devices
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions in virtualised environments
• Ability to carry out technical audits and produce design documentation
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills

Desirable Experience

• Experience working within an MSP or project-based environment
• Experience with HPE server and storage solutions
• Aruba networking and wireless technologies
• Veeam backup solutions
• Smoothwall or similar security platforms
• SD-WAN technologies
