Markets: Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), Special Schools, Mainstream Schools, Alternative Provision (AP)
Domain: SEND-focused EdTech SaaS
Location: Remote (with 1–2 monthly visits to the Midlands office)

Benefits

  • Pension, expenses, and equipment for remote/hybrid work
  • Professional development budget (SEND/EdTech)

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you’ll drive new-business sales across MATs, special schools, mainstream schools and APs. You’ll convert pipeline into ARR and expand early wins into multi-school rollouts. This role suits a consultative seller with first-hand SEND experience who can speak credibly with SENCOs, Heads, Trust leads and Local Authority stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline across MATs, special, mainstream and AP settings; forecast accurately and hit quarterly targets.
  • Run discovery, tailored demos and solution design across the product suite.
  • Orchestrate multi-stakeholder sales cycles, navigating procurement and budget processes.
  • Create compelling proposals and ROI cases; negotiate and close new contracts.
  • Land-and-expand single-school wins into MAT frameworks and renewals.
  • Maintain CRM discipline (HubSpot), tracking KPIs and pipeline health.
  • Partner with Marketing on campaigns, webinars and events.
  • Provide feedback to Product and Clinical teams to inform roadmap development.
  • Uphold safeguarding and GDPR compliance when working with schools.

What You’ll Bring

  • First-hand SEND experience (e.g., SENCO, specialist teacher/therapist, EP/assistant, or substantive SEND role).
  • Proven experience selling to UK schools or MATs (2+ years), ideally EdTech/SaaS.
  • Strong consultative sales approach and solution mapping ability.
  • Excellent written proposals and negotiation skills.
  • Metrics-driven, with forecasting and CRM discipline.
  • Confident communicator with senior education leaders.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling into Special Schools or AP.
  • Familiarity with JCQ access arrangements, EHCP processes, MAT centralisation and LA commissioning.
  • Knowledge of ISO/cyber standards (e.g., ISO 9001/27001, Cyber Essentials).
  • Prior HubSpot experience.
