We are supporting a purpose-driven, values-led software company with a national and international presence. This organisation has a long-standing reputation for delivering innovative solutions that make a real impact in the education and technology sectors.
They are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the Executive Leadership Team. This is a pivotal appointment, responsible for leading the financial strategy, ensuring sustainable growth, and guiding the organisation through its next stage of development. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board, the CFO will provide clear, commercially minded financial leadership across all aspects of the business.
Location: Hybrid – West Midlands / Remote with site visits
Salary: £120k + Bonus
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and execute the financial strategy in alignment with the organisation’s long-term goals.
- Lead robust business planning, forecasting, and performance reporting processes.
- Provide clear financial insights and actionable recommendations to executive colleagues and non-financial stakeholders.
- Drive SaaS and licensing financial modelling to predict revenue trends and inform strategic decisions.
- Guide pricing strategies, product investment, and revenue optimisation across product lines.
- Oversee financial operations including accounting, reporting, and cash management.
- Ensure strong risk management, compliance, and financial governance.
- Simplify and improve financial processes and policies to enhance efficiency and transparency.
- Build and mentor a collaborative, high-performing finance team.
About You
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with proven experience in a CFO or senior finance leadership role.
- Strong track record in financial strategy, commercial finance, and process improvement.
- Expertise in SaaS financial modelling, pricing strategies, and subscription-based metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, CAC, LTV).
- Skilled at translating complex financial data into simple, logical insights for diverse stakeholders.
- Experience gained in a fast-growing SME environment would be highly beneficial.
