Description
A specialist managed IT services provider delivering technology support to primary and secondary schools across North and North-West London, to appoint an IT Engineer. Due to growth, the organisation is looking to hire one, potentially two individuals, offering flexibility for experienced engineers or a junior technician with a strong “can-do” attitude who can be trained.
The Role
You will provide on-site IT support to schools within a defined geographic area, working independently in the field with support from a central service desk. The role involves day-to-day troubleshooting, maintenance, installations, and participation in larger infrastructure projects during school holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver on-site IT support across multiple school sites on a rota basis
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
- Carry out installations, health checks, minor repairs, and routine maintenance
- Support Windows Server, Windows 11, Active Directory, and Group Policy environments
- Escalate complex issues to the service desk where required
- Assist with larger projects during school holidays (servers, WiFi, deployments)

- Able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users
- Well-organised with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- Comfortable working independently in the field
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to learn (particularly for trainee level)
Experience Required
- Experience working for an MSP supporting schools or as a school-based IT technician
- Good working knowledge of Windows Server (2019/2022/2025), Windows 11, AD, and GPO
- Network troubleshooting experience (wired and wireless)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 environments
- Experience with education platforms, Apple School Manager, UniFi, or managed switches is beneficial
- Own transport essential
- Ability to pass a DBS check (DBS funded on commencement)
Salary & Benefits
- £24,000–£32,000 per annum
