Description

We are seeking two experienced IT Support Engineers to provide on-site support at secondary schools based in Stockport and Glossop. These are excellent opportunities for skilled IT professionals who enjoy being hands-on and supporting technology that directly enables teaching and learning.

Location: Stockport & Glossop
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent or Contract considered

The Role

As an IT Support Engineer, you will work on-site as the primary point of contact for IT issues, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across hardware, software, networks, and classroom technology. You will also be supported by a wider IT services team for escalations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing first- and second-line IT support to staff and students
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, and classroom AV
  • Supporting Office 365, Active Directory, Windows 10/11, and Google Workspace
  • Managing device builds, installations, and updates
  • Monitoring and maintaining networks, switches, and WiFi
  • Logging tickets, updating users, and escalating when required
  • Carrying out routine checks and preventative maintenance

About You

We are looking for someone who can work independently on-site, with excellent technical skills and strong customer service.

Essential skills include:

  • IT support experience (ideally in a school or education setting)
  • Knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AD & Group Policy
  • Experience with devices, AV, printers, and mobile device management (MDM)
  • Networking fundamentals – switches, patching, WiFi
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Desirable:

  • Industry certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA etc.)
  • Familiarity with MIS or other education systems
