About the Role
As an IT Team Leader, you will lead a team of remote IT technicians, ensuring high-quality IT service delivery to a portfolio of schools. You’ll provide hands-on support, manage daily operations, and drive service excellence. Working with cutting-edge cloud-powered solutions, this role allows you to play a key part in improving teaching, learning, and staff work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second line support for incidents and service requests via site visits, phone, email, or service portal, maintaining a professional and positive approach.
- Deliver on-site support to a designated school and carry out scheduled visits across the region, attending priority incidents as required.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards, recognising the wider impact of IT issues on service delivery.
- Adhere to ITIL processes, including change, incident, service request, and major incident management.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate team or manager when necessary.
- Stay up to date with technical developments to maximise first-time incident resolution.
- Maintain and support peripheral equipment such as wireless devices, printers, whiteboards, and projectors, arranging repairs when required.
- Oversee network administration, ensuring a reliable and fast-running computer network that supports both educational and administrative needs.
- Ensure compliance with IT legislation, including data protection and software licensing, under guidance from the Chief Technology Officer.
- Manage IT assets, maintaining accurate configuration records and ensuring equipment is security tagged and registered.
- Lead and manage a team of remote IT technicians, overseeing task allocation, troubleshooting, and performance.
- Collaborate with service delivery management to improve team productivity, efficiency, and service quality.
- Facilitate regular team meetings and one-to-one sessions to share updates, provide coaching, and foster a positive team culture.
- Support IT services during evening events when required.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a team leader or senior IT support role, ideally across multi-site environments.
- Strong technical skills in network administration, hardware, and cloud-based technologies.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities, with a focus on service delivery and incident resolution.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices for IT service management.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with experience in team development and performance management.
- Understanding of safeguarding, data protection, and software compliance standards.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between school sites.
