We are looking for a hands-on Senior Field Infrastructure Engineer to join a fast-growing managed services provider, delivering IT solutions across schools and commercial clients throughout London and the South East.

This is a highly varied, field-based role where you will act as the lead engineer on-site, delivering infrastructure projects, supporting migrations, and building strong relationships with customers. As a Senior Field Infrastructure Engineer, you will work across modern Microsoft environments, networking, and enterprise hardware, with the autonomy to manage your own workload and take ownership of technical delivery.

This role is ideal for an experienced IT Field Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or 3rd Line Engineer who enjoys working directly with customers, delivering projects end-to-end, and being out on-site rather than desk-based.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver on-site IT infrastructure projects including installations, upgrades and migrations
• Install and configure Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
• Deploy and support enterprise server hardware including Dell and HPE systems
• Configure and manage virtualisation platforms including Hyper-V and VMware/ESXi
• Provide support and guidance to customers across education and commercial environments
• Carry out infrastructure upgrades, server replacements and customer migrations
• Support Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune and MFA
• Configure and troubleshoot firewalls including SonicWall, WatchGuard, Fortinet or similar
• Deliver networking solutions including VLANs, wireless deployments and core connectivity
• Work closely with service desk and project teams to ensure smooth delivery and handover
• Maintain accurate documentation, job records and asset tracking
• Act as the primary technical contact on-site, building strong client relationships

Skills / Experience Required

• Strong experience in a field-based IT role within an MSP or project-driven environment
• Proven experience delivering Windows Server installations, upgrades and migrations
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
  Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
• Experience with virtualisation platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware
• Networking knowledge including VLANs, wireless and firewall configuration
• Experience working with enterprise server hardware (Dell, HPE or similar)
• Excellent customer-facing and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Full UK driving licence & access to vehicle required
