The Role

A specialist education-focused IT services provider is seeking a Migration Engineer to support a key client on a high-impact cloud migration project. The Migration Engineer will take the lead on migrating Office 365 and associated tenancies to Google Workspace, ensuring a seamless and secure transition. This Migration Engineer role offers the opportunity to work with a provider delivering tailored IT managed services to schools and organisations across England, playing a key role in a critical transformation project. This a 3 month contract is offered on fully remote basis and requires an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end migration from Office 365 to Google Workspace across multiple tenancies
• Plan and execute migration strategies to minimise disruption to users and services
• Manage the migration of mailboxes, files, and user data with a focus on accuracy and integrity
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex migration issues at a 3rd line level
• Work closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery
• Ensure data security, compliance, and best practice throughout the migration lifecycle
• Provide clear documentation and knowledge transfer following project completion
• Support testing, validation, and user adoption within the new Google Workspace environment

Person Specification

• Proven experience as a Migration Engineer delivering Office 365 to Google Workspace migrations
• Strong 3rd line engineering background with hands-on delivery experience
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments
• Experience using migration tools and best practice methodologies
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote contract role
