IT Manager

GreatFind Recruitment is recruiting an experienced IT Manager for a well established educational organisation in Surrey.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong IT professional to take ownership of the organisation's IT infrastructure, manage a small technical team and play an important role in shaping its future IT strategy.

The position would suit an experienced IT Manager, Network Manager or Senior IT Engineer looking to take the next step in their career.

Location: Surrey
Salary: £42,000 to £54,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours weekly.
Holiday: 26 days plus bank holidays
Start: ASAP

About the role

You will be responsible for the day to day management of IT systems, networks, cybersecurity and technical support services, ensuring a secure, reliable and efficient IT environment.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee IT projects, infrastructure improvements and the delivery of technical support across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain servers, networks, WiFi and IT infrastructure.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Oversee cybersecurity, firewalls, backups and disaster recovery.
• Lead and support a small technical team.
• Manage IT support services and ensure technical issues are resolved efficiently.
• Deliver IT infrastructure upgrades and technology projects.
• Manage IT budgets, procurement and supplier relationships.
• Support cloud services, mobile device management and IT security compliance.

About you

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills and the confidence to take ownership of an IT environment.

Ideally, you will have:

• Proven experience supporting and managing IT networks, servers and infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Experience with networking, firewalls, cybersecurity and backup solutions.
• Knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as Hyper V or VMware.
• Experience managing IT support services and delivering infrastructure projects.
• Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA or equivalent technical certifications.
• The ability to lead, mentor and develop a small team.

Previous experience within education would be advantageous but is not essential. We welcome applications from technically experienced professionals across other sectors.
