Description

We are looking for a technically strong Regional School Technology Partner to support a network of schools across the Southeast of England. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable IT Manager, Network Manager, or Senior IT Engineer to work on impactful technology projects that support education across multiple schools.

£40,000–45,000 | South East / Hybrid | 18 Month Fixed Term Contract

The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on technical delivery. As a Regional School Technology Partner, you will work closely with school IT teams to audit and improve infrastructure, support major IT initiatives, and guide schools through technology improvements and procurement decisions. You will also play a key role in onboarding new schools into the organisation, ensuring their IT environments are secure, scalable, and aligned with best practice.

The position supports around 15–20 schools within a regional cluster in Kent & surrounding, with a flexible working model that includes remote working and occasional on-site visits (typically around two days per week when required). Travel expenses to schools are covered.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and guidance to schools across a defined region
  • Conduct audits of IT infrastructure, systems, policies, and operational processes
  • Support schools in maintaining secure and reliable IT environments
  • Assist schools with infrastructure improvements and technical troubleshooting
  • Lead the technical onboarding of new schools joining the group
  • Support the delivery of central IT initiatives and infrastructure projects
  • Provide hands-on technical support where required to ensure successful implementation
  • Provide input into school IT digital strategies and long-term technology planning
  • Assist schools with medium-scale IT procurements (£10k–£100k)
  • Ensure solutions align with organisational standards and best practice
  • Work closely with central IT teams to support national technology initiatives
  • Provide guidance to school IT staff and act as a regional technical advisor
  • Support schools during staff absences or critical incidents when required
  • Strong experience supporting school or education IT environments
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration and cloud services
  • Strong infrastructure knowledge including networks, servers, and device management
  • Experience supporting or managing school IT environments as an IT Manager, Network Manager, or Senior IT Engineer
    Ability to audit and assess IT environments and recommend improvements
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders

 

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within a Multi Academy Trust or education group
  • Experience supporting EdTech environments or education-focused MSPs
  • Experience supporting infrastructure projects or onboarding new environments

 

Working Pattern

  • Hybrid role with remote working supported
  • Travel to schools across the region typically around two days per week
  • Travel expenses covered
