A growing managed service provider specialising in independent schools is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support and deliver high-quality IT services across its client base. This Infrastructure Engineer role is a hands-on position focused on network infrastructure, firewalls and cloud technologies, with a strong emphasis on FortiGate environments.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide 2nd/3rd line support both remotely and on-site, while also contributing to projects and technical assessments. This Infrastructure Engineer role is ideal for someone with strong networking and firewall experience looking to develop within a high-performing MSP environment.
Salary: £40,000 | Type: Permanent | Location: M4 Corridor (Hybrid + Client Sites)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd/3rd line support across network, infrastructure and cloud environments
- Act as escalation point for complex technical issues
- Configure and support FortiGate firewalls (essential)
- Support networking environments (DNS, DHCP, routing, switching)
- Deliver on-site and remote project engineering
- Conduct technical assessments and produce reports
- Maintain documentation and update service desk systems
- Work closely with clients to deliver high-quality IT support
Person Specification
- Experience in an Infrastructure Support Engineer or similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls (essential)
- Solid networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, subnetting, routing)
- Experience supporting Windows Server, M365 and Intune
- Experience working within an MSP or client-facing environment (particularly with an education background)
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
